Leasowe Community Homes. Leasowe Community Homes was set up in 1999 as a subsidiary of Arena to take over the management of 1,100 homes in Leasowe from Wirral Borough Council. The unique solution to set up the non-profit making Local Housing Company - the first of its kind in the North West - ensured the residents of Leasowe retained their own identity, while enjoying the security and support offered by Arena.
LCH offer a variety of services from its area office including lettings, tenancy management, rent collection and reporting of repairs. We have recently introduced a warden/handyperson scheme for minor works which is available to all residents at a competitive price.
LCH Mission statement is “to invest in the community of Leasowe and help to create an attractive, safe and crime free environment where people choose to live and work”.
Leasowe residents have a wide range of facilities on the estate for all ages, housed within Leasowe Community Centre, Leasowe Millennium Centre and Leasowe Recreation Centre.
Leasowe is the home of 7 Waves Community Radio, the Fresh Approach Café, high quality conference facilities, the Leasowe Women’s Centre and Leasowe Library.
Community participation is a key factor in the successes at Leasowe. The Chair of the Board of Leasowe Community Homes is a tenant, and is supported on the Board by four other local residents. The dedication and commitment of the Leasowe Estate Tenants Association is greatly appreciated by Leasowe Community Homes and Arena. |
