Launchpad Reading (formerly Reading Single Homeless Project) is a registered charity that helps some of Reading’s most vulnerable and disadvantaged people to turn around their lives and fulfil their potential.
They provide supported housing to single people who have a history of homelessness. And, as homelessness rarely comes alone, many are struggling with substance or alcohol misuse, have a history of offending or mental health issues, had a poor start in life or have been affected by a relationship breakdown.
At Launchpad they give people a second chance, challenging and supporting them to make changes in their life. Everyone that walks through their doors in central Reading is seen as an individual. Each person’s needs are assessed and, if they are able to help, they are offered housing and a tailored programme of support is developed with them. This will include regular meetings with a dedicated Supported Housing Worker. Other options are participation in the Allotment Project, joining the Alcohol Support Group, attending training and personal development sessions, meeting with a volunteer counsellor and volunteering with Launchpad. |
