In October 2006 Pendle Council transferred its council housing stock and sheltered accommodation provision to Housing Pendle.
Housing Pendle is a new, not-for-profit, locally based housing organisation, officially known as a Registered Social Landlord. It is run by a voluntary Board of Management made up of five tenants, five Council nominees and five independent people.
* Five tenants are members of the Shadow Board.
* Council members have been nominated by the Council.
* The independent members have been appointed according to their specialist skills and experience.
The Board Members will use their combined skills and experience to make the best decision and shape the future of affordable homes in Pendle.
Housing Pendle is being closely monitored by the Government's regulator of Registered Social Landlords, the Housing Corporation, to make sure that it is well governed and managed. |
