 General Information / Background
Guild Care is a well-established charity working with older people and carers in Worthing and the surrounding areas and is unique in the range of services it offers. We are one of Worthing's largest employers and can offer employment and volunteering opportunities in a wide range of care-related work.

Another 31 local people are tenants of Dolphin Court, sheltered accommodation which bridges the gap between living independently and residential care.

Three of our homes - Ashmount, Caer Gwent and Irene House - are able to provide nursing as well as residential care. Whitcomb House is registered to provide residential care.

Guild Care's commitment to quality of care is reflected in the recent completion of a £2.3 million project to extend and refurbish Caer Gwent. This home has already been awarded a Government Charter Mark for Excellence and has now been transformed into one of the most spacious and well-appointed care homes for older people in the country.

Other recent innovations include a short break service offering limited stays at Whitcomb House and a convalescence service at Caer Gwent. Our sheltered accommodation Dolphin Court has also been substantially upgraded. Improvements include double glazing, a new heating system and lift, improved disability access and level access showers in all flats.
