A clear majority of council tenants have now decided that transferring the Council’s housing stock to a brand new, not-for-profit housing association is the only way for the Council to meet the Government's Decent Homes Standard and ensure that a high level of service is maintained for tenants & leaseholders throughout the Braintree District.
We need to find an extra £51 million to bring all 8,200 homes up to the Decent Homes Standard in the next 5 years. The only way to find this money and continue to provide a good service for the next 30 years is to transfer staff and services over to Greenfields Community Housing. |
