Glasgow Housing Association (GHA) is one of the largest social landlords in the UK, with more than 45,000 tenants and 26,500 factored homeowners across Glasgow.
We also play a key role in the regeneration of Glasgow alongside our partners such as Glasgow City Council and the Scottish Government. Since stock transfer from the city council in 2003, we have invested more than £1billion in modernising and improving tenants’ homes across the city, making them warmer, safer and drier by overcladding and re-roofing properties, as well as installing new central heating, kitchens, bathrooms, doors, windows and wiring. We are building brand new homes across the city. Phase 2 of our new-build programme is well under way and will see 411 new homes built at nine sites across Glasgow. The first phase saw 259 homes built in the north of the city.
We are also firmly focused on helping Glasgow residents lead better, happier and healthier lives. That is why through working with a range of partners such as Glasgow City Council, Strathclyde Police, Strathclyde Fire and Rescue and NHS Greater Glasgow we have helped bring forward a host of projects which support tenants and make communities safer and more attractive.
Tenants and factored homeowners are at the heart of GHA and in the last year we have become much closer to our customers and communities as well as to our partners and stakeholders. We have devolved as much decision-making and service delivery as close as possible to tenants and factored homeowners.
We have strengthened our frontline services with more housing officers working in communities. And our tenants have a real say on what happens to their homes and neighbourhoods. We have a network of local offices, all of which are run by a tenant led committee. |
