Fishermen's Hospital is owned by Fishermen's Hospital, Inc., a Florida non-profit corporation, doing business as Fishermen's Hospital Association. The Association is a qualified 501 (c) (3) tax exempt charitable organization. The Corporation's assets include the hospital building and grounds as well as two physician office buildings in Marathon. The Association maintains investment accounts for the purpose of funding capital improvements to the hospital and maintains a contingency fund for the operation of the hospital, should funds be needed for that purpose in the future.
Fishermen's Hospital, Inc. does not operate the hospital or provide any medical services. Hospital operations are conducted by Health Management Associates (HMA) pursuant to a lease agreement with the Association.
The Association also contributes to the health and well-being of the Marathon and Florida Keys community through its sponsorship of the Harry Norris Fund. |
