First Choice Homes Oldham (FCHO) was created in April 2002 to manage "council owned" properties across Oldham Metropolitan Borough. Since February 2011 we have taken over the ownership and management of over 12,000 homes and have become a Registered Provider of Social Housing (also known as a housing association or RSL). This means that we are completely independent from the Council and as a result we do not have to depend on Government funding to improve our homes.
We run as a not-for-profit organisation with a charitable status which means any profit (called a surplus) that we make is re-invested into homes and neighbourhoods.
We are responsible for managing, letting, repairing and modernising all ex-council properties and we are committed to ensuring all our customers receive the highest possible quality of service.
We are just about to start a massive £149million Improvement Programme which will see hundreds of properties and estates improved and modernised. None of this would be possible without the support of our customers who are at the heart of everything we do. |
