Throughout its 85-year history ENHAM has made relevant services available to disabled people. The ENHAM Village Centre was founded in 1918 to rehabilitate, employ and house men who had been wounded in active service and to provide accommodation and support for both them and their families.
The village of ENHAM was renamed Enham Alamein in 1945 after a generous gift from the people of Egypt in recognition of the role played by Allied Forces in the battle of Alamein. The gift was used to build a TB facility, which in time became a residential care home for disabled people from all walks of life. |
