One of the largest and newest Housing Associations in Surrey, Elmbridge Housing Trust was formed in 1999 to take over the ownership and management of the Council's housing and develop more affordable homes. The transfer was completed on 27th March 2000 after extensive consultation in which the Trust met with 98% of tenants. 73% of tenants voted in the ballot with two thirds voting in favour of transfer.
A non-profit making company, the Trust employs around 100 staff with the majority based at our Head Office in Walton on Thames. Our commitment to staff and progressive approach enabled us to gain Investor in People status after only 18 months of operation.
Elmbridge Housing Trust successfully retained its Charter Mark Award for excellence in public service in October 2001; the Head of the Government's Charter Mark Unit commented, "winning again is a tribute to your Organisation." Charter Mark is a major part of the Government's drive to modernize public services and Organisations are judged on results - the service the customer actually receives. |
