Chichester Diocesan Housing Association (CDHA) has its roots in West Sussex and now manages properties right across the county. The varied housing needs of people in the area are reflected in the diverse range of projects underway.
One of the most pressing issues facing West Sussex is the lack of affordable housing. CDHA is working with its local authority partners to address this, using a variety of funding mechanisms to provide both temporary and more permanent housing solutions.
In the case of George V Avenue in Worthing, we have also been able to make a positive contribution to the local area by bringing two empty blocks of flats back into use. In partnership with Worthing Borough Council, CDHA has now provided secure, good quality and economical temporary accommodation for 42 families and individuals - a much better alternative to bed & breakfast - whilst retaining and enhancing many original features of these impressive Art Deco buildings. |
