Set up in 1990, this office was one of the first to be set up in the North East region. The staff work closely in conjunction with health services, social services and other partner agencies such as Age Concern to provide a useful service to the community. The office also receives work requests directly from the public.
In addition to managing work with contractors on behalf of clients, Care and Repair Derwentside offers a handyman service. This is a service that mainly helps with installation of grab rails and handrails as well as assisting with small jobs such as securing door locks, fitting light bulbs and curtain rails to enable independence.
