In a previous life we were Burnley and Padiham Community Housing Association. We are still a housing association but with a new name. We are a non-profit-making organisation providing a range of homes for those who do not want to buy or cannot afford to. Our business is bricks and mortar with quality and value and hands-on management and contact. We remain though the biggest provider of affordable housing in the Burnley area with around 5000 homes to rent for single people, families and the elderly.
All our work is about creating safe and secure environments where people want to live and work. We also believe in achieving the best value so our residents get the highest level of service from us – high quality, good value.
In addition to our standard housing, we also provide homes which are purpose built for older people – sheltered housing, specially-designed flats and bungalows. And we also work in partnerships with housing trusts, Social Services and charitable organisations to provide housing for those people who need extra support.
The service we provide, such as repairs, caretaking and neighbourhood management, as well as improvement to homes, is paid for by loans from banks and building societies, repaid by the rents we collect. Everyday costs such as repairs, caretaking and management are paid for by rent income, while the extra community work we do is often the result of grants we have bid for. |
