 General Information / Background
Bourne is a charitable housing association that manages almost 1,800 homes in South London, Surrey, Sussex, Hampshire and Dorset. Formed in 1965, the association provides high quality personal service for both rented and shared ownership residents.

Bourne aims to:
• provide and maintain good quality homes for rent or sale on a shared ownership basis.
• make homes available to those in need, irrespective of ethnic origin, gender or disability.
• deliver a caring responsive management service and to be readily accessible for information and advice.
• involve residents in the management of its properties.

It works closely with the Housing Corporation, local authorities and others to identify suitable opportunities to provide affordable rented homes for people living in overcrowded, poor or unsuitable housing, or people seeking to purchase a stake in their own home for whom no other commercial avenue exists.

Bourne’s activities are regulated by the Housing Corporation.
