Bolton Young Persons Housing Scheme (BYPHS) is a registered charity providing temporary supported accommodation to people aged 16-25 who are homeless and/or in special need.
They aim to promote independence with a strong emphasis on resident involvement. Support is provided on a needs led basis with staff available 9am to 6pm Monday to Friday. They have a Drop In on two afternoons a week, for all current and former residents.
BYPHS can accommodate 25 young people in 21 self contained flats and 2 shared houses. They give assistance with keeping a tenancy, basic life skills, making benefit claims and identifying employment or further education prospects. They aim to help residents move into permanent accommodation of their choice. They agree a resettlement package with each resident, which is tailored to their individual need. People leaving the Scheme to live independently are offered continued support for up to 12 months.
People who are referred to the Scheme should be able to manage independent living with low to medium support. The Scheme is not suitable for people with intensive or high support needs.
They take referrals direct from young people and also from statutory and voluntary agencies and housing associations. |
