The Blue House is a completely independent Foundation, and currently receives no financial subsidy or grant from any public source. It runs entirely on the income from its ancient endowments, the modest ‘fair rents’ it is allowed to charge to its residents, and the proceeds of special events such as fêtes, theatrical performances and art displays in the beautiful garden, and regular coffee mornings in the Churchill room.
It aims to provide a home for retired persons, ensuring they maintain their dignity and privacy at all times in a safe and happy environment and to help residents maintain an independent life style for as long as possible. Also have a policy of equal opportunity and follow any relevant regulations necessary when providing sheltered accommodation as Registered Providers and maintain and improve the fabric of the Blue House so that it may continue to provide sheltered accommodation in the future.
