 General Information / Background
The Blackpool Fylde and Wyre Society for the Blind has been providing support since 1910 to help anyone with reduced vision living in the area regardless of age or means. We are an independant local charity providing services which include:

* The Princess Alexandra Home for the Blind Residential Care Home - dedicated to providing the highest standard of residential care

* Resource and Rehabilitation Centre - Offering advice, support and information to anyone with reduced vision

* Talking Newspaper Service - Offering audio tapes from newspapers and magazines for the visually impaired

* Library - we have 1440 audio book titles to choose from

* blueIRIS - a way of delivering audio content to the blind and visually impaired

* dk Studio - state of the art recording technology to meet your transcription need

* Conference Facilities - meeting rooms to suit your needs all on one level

* Shopping - you could help the charity by using one of our online shop

* Charity Shops - at Highfield Road Blackpool and Poulton Street Kirkham

* Donations and Volunteers - want to see how you could help
