In 2007, Berwick-upon-Tweed Borough Council tenants voted in favour of a Large Scale Voluntary Transfer (LSVT) of the Council’s housing stock. On the 3rd November 2008, Berwick Borough Housing took over the ownership and management of the Council’s 1,900 homes.
As a social landlord, Berwick Borough Housing is registered with the Housing Corporation, the Government’s housing regulator. The business is a not-for-profit organisation therefore, any surpluses are re-invested back into the organisation to maintain and improve homes and services.
