Berneslai Homes is an Arms Length Management Organisation (ALMO) responsible for managing homes on behalf of Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council.
Berneslai Homes are an independent company committed to working in partnership with Barnsley Council and the communities in which we work to deliver high quality housing services to local people.
Berneslai Homes came into existence in December 2002 and is a company wholly owned by Barnsley Council but is overseen by a Board of Directors rather than a committee of the council. The Strategic Board has fifteen members made up of five Council representatives, five tenants and five independent voluntary members. In addition to the Strategic Board, there are two Area Boards, one representing the North of the Borough and one representing the South of the Borough. Each of the area boards have twelve members made up of five tenants, four council and three Independent representatives. |
