 General Information / Background
The Bakers' Benevolent Society is an Almshouse Charity that was founded in 1832 and has had Sheltered accommodation in Epping, Essex for more than 30 years. The Society is proud of its provision of housing, care and support to the retired people of the Baking Industry and its Allied Trades. It employs professional staff with the qualifications and experience to carry out their jobs in a caring manner. This was recognised when the Society achieved the Investors in People accreditation - the very first Almshouse Charity to do so and have recently successfully completed their first review by Investors in People. The Society has also achieved registration by the Commission for Social Care Inspection which means that the Welfare Staff can administer Personal Care to our frailer Residents.
