The Company was set up to take over ownership and management of the housing stock which was transferred from the Borough Council in January 2000. During our first two years of operation we found that many people still associated us with the Council and there was confusion as to exactly what we were responsible for. For this reason we decided to create a brand new name and identity to coincide with our move to new office accommodation and in December 2002, changed our name to Aspire Housing.
We are a non-profit making Registered Social Landlord (RSL) and are registered with the Housing Corporation, the statutory body responsible for supervising and regulating social landlords. To register with the Housing Corporation, we had to show that we could provide services efficiently and effectively and that the organisation would be governed in an open, honest and accountable way. |
