Part of Great Places Housing Group, Ashiana’s main areas of operation are in the Lancashire towns of, Blackburn, Bolton, Manchester, Preston and Rochdale where we currently have over 1,000 homes. Other areas such as Pendle, Hyndburn, Burnley and Tameside are places where we have an expanding role to play.
Whilst our roots lie in the Black and Minority Ethnic communities of the North West - Ashiana started life in the 1980s as the Asian Special Housing Initiative Agency (ASHIA), a charity committed to to supporting the needs and aspirations of Black and Minority ethnics in Rochdale - we provide homes for all, regardless of race, creed or colour. However, the provision of homes specifically targeted at Black and Minority families remain our main focus.
We recognise that the larger, extended Black and Minority Ethnic family needs a larger than average home and we understand the cultural and religious needs that require special design features and adaptations. Our ability to cater for this niche market has seen phenomenal growth in demand for Ashiana homes over the last few years. |
