In April 2006 Amicus Group and Horizon Housing Group joined forces with the joint mission of creating neighbourhoods where people want to live.
The new Group, AmicusHorizon, is an umbrella organisation for a number of social landlords. Together we provide homes and services to communities across the London and the South East. With a dedication to proving more than bricks and mortar the Group works to improve the socio-economic circumstances of our residents and the communities that we serve through innovative programs and training schemes.
Managing over 28,000 homes AmicusHorizon offers housing solutions from general needs to housing for people with mental health problems and learning difficulties. As a leading housing provider, we are dedicated to improving the quality of life of our residents through excellent service provision and building more homes for people in need.
Horizon Housing Group sets its roots in Catholic Housing Aid Society (CHAS) when in 1964 four members of the Norbury branch purchased one house to convert into flats for local homeless people. From this one property Horizon has grown from South London Family Housing Association to the newly formed Group AmicusHorizon. While the house prices may have changed and the demand for quality affordable housing continues to grow our priorities have stayed the same- to help improve the quality of life for people across the South East. |
