Renamed Adactus Housing Association Ltd from Family Housing Association (Manchester) Ltd in 2005, the company traces its origins to the 1960s and was initially linked to the Catholic Housing Aid Societies set up to provide housing and advice. The Association has continued to evolve and is now actively involved in projects beyond its core business of managing and building housing. It is now developing regeneration initiatives, shared ownership, supported housing and provides training and employment initiatives.
The company is registered with the Financial Service Authority under the Industrial and Provident Societies Act 1965 and is charitable. Is is a Registered Social Landlord regulated by The Housing Corporation, employs c245 staff, and manages c5,400 properties.
It is Corporate Trustee for the James Tomkinson Memorial Cottages Trust which manages four properties in Willington Corner near Darsbury. The Trust is registered as a charity with the Charities Commission.
It is also the majority shareholder in Heartland Court Management Limited, a private Company limited by shares responsible for the management and maintenance of the unadopted parking spaces and road to the rear of Richard Moon Street and Cornwall Grove in Crewe. |
