Abbeyfield Taunton is a non-profit making organisation that exists to make older people’s lives easier and more fulfilling.
We provide sheltered housing for active elderly people in Taunton, the historic county town of Somerset.
Our two houses – both close to the centre of the town - provide comfort, companionship and peace of mind for residents who no longer want the burden of managing their own home and garden.
Residents are encouraged to maintain their independence. They furnish and care for their own rooms, they come and go as they please and receive visitors.
At the centre of our houses is the housekeeper, who works with a committee of volunteers, to ensure the houses are comfortable, homely and secure and provides nutritious meals.
Everyone aims to respect the privacy of residents whilst giving support if needed.
Abbeyfield is a volunteer based organisation, which helps us to keep our charges as low as possible. |
