There are two Abbeyfield Houses in Kings Langle: Friars Mead and Garrad House
Friars Mead is a homely and friendly environment for the elderly requiring personal care. Every effort is made to involve residents in the running of the home. A range of activities is avaialble; all are designed to suit the wishes and abilities of our residents.

Garrad House is in the village of Kings Langley, with easy access from the M25 (exit 20) and main line trains from Euston. The house is quite near the shops for good walkers; taxis, or lifts from friends, are often available. Kings Langley is a pleasant village with a long history, some nice shops and several social clubs; the performing arts societies are very active and parties of residents are taken to matinees of the shows. There are lively church congregations and transport to services is always available.

Both houses depend not only on having good paid staff but also on having some active volunteers. So, whatever your background and interests there could well be an opportunity that suits you. The time commitment can be as little or as great as you wish. For more information please contact either of the Houses. Note that they are run independently of each other so it may be necessary to contact both to discover all the opportunities. |
