The Abbeyfield (Axminster) Society Ltd was the first Abbeyfield Society in Devon and Cornwall. It was formed in 1963 and Abbeyfield House was opened in Silver Street in 1964.
The Society, as a member of the national Abbeyfield Society conducts its affairs in accordance with the standards laid down and agreed and is subject to and abides by all legislation applicable to the provision of sheltered housing and the findings of the Independent Housing Ombudsman.
