I am a registered user on Housingnet
Q. I have forgotten
my User Name / Password
A. If you have forgotten your Password please click on the 'Forgot
Password' link on the right hand side of the
home page. If you submit your User Name your Password will be
emailed to you. If you do not know your Password or User Name please
submit your Company Name and the name of the person who made the
initial registration via the contact
form.
Q. I have
paid for registration but only have the free version of the Housingnet Client
software on my computer.
A. Click on the 'Register' button on the free Housingnet Client Enter
the User Name and Password you gave in registration in the logon
box and submit. The Housingnet Client is now activated and unlocked. All
the data in the system can be refreshed by clicking on the 'Update'
button.
Q. I am unable
to download the Housingnet Client software due to Network/Firewall restrictions.
A. The license that you have enables you to export our data in
two ways, the Housingnet Client
software and the Online
Export Panel. Both methods of extraction are exactly the same.
To access the Online Export Panel please log on via
the front page using your User Name and Password. You will not
have any Network/Firewall problems with the Online Export.
Q. We are
trying to move/run the Housingnet Client across a network.
We are interested in registering.
Q. Why should I?
A. Housingnet has the most comprehensive and up-to-date UK Housing
Association contact data available in any format in the UK. Registration
on Housingnet enables the user to manipulate and export this data
through our Housingnet Client
desktop software or the Online
Export page into a spreadsheet. We update our database around
20 times per day and any changes can be immediately downloaded to
the Housingnet Client as often as you wish.
Once registered with us all our Local Authority data can be accessed
in the same way. Every LA in the UK is listed along with various
departments mostly associated with housing.
When dealing with this much data and the rate that it is changing
we do not guarantee anything. What we do say is that whatever price
you pay for this type of data it will not be better than ours. Which
is why at £ 199.00 + VAT for a 365 day Single User License we are the market
leaders.
Our main clients are the Housing Associations themselves and Social
Housing is the sector we have built Housingnet for. We realise that
there are other interested private parties that also want this data
for Direct Marketing purposes and because of the great response
we have had from them we have been able to offer free registration
to our site to all Housing Associations and Local Authority employees.
Every Housing Association and Local Authority with an email address
has direct access into our system where they can update the data
we hold on them at any time, and hundreds of them do. We have 2
members of staff who work fairly exclusively on data cleansing our
information and we also rely on our registered users to inform us
of any errors that they find. Once an error is reported to us it
is immediately changed in the system so that every user has access
to it.
For these reasons if you are looking for Housing Association and
Local Authority contact data and the tools to target campaigns based
on size, type, department etc. then we are the best by far and this
is the registration
form.
Q. I am trying
to download the free copy of the Housingnet Client from your website but
can't.
A. The most likely reason for a download problem will be a Firewall
restriction on your network or Operating System. If you are on a
network please contact your technical support and ask them if you
are able to download a .exe file. If you are using Windows XP with
Service Pack 2 installed you will not be able to download .exe files
until you have disabled the Firewall or enabled downloads coming
from www.housingnet.co.uk.
Q. I am getting
this fault "429 - Active X Component can't create Object".
A. This is most probably caused by the Firewall in Windows XP Service
Pack 2. Please disable the Firewall or enable downloads coming from
www.housingnet.co.uk
Q. We are unable to download
the Housingnet Client software due to Firewall restrictions, can we still
get your data?
A. Yes. The license that we sell enables you to export our data
in two ways, the Housingnet Client
software and the Online
Export Panel. Both methods of extraction are exactly the same.
To access the Online Export Panel please log on via
the front page once you have registered.
Q. We need to export the data
to build mailing lists, contact sheets, or to import into our works
Access database, is this possible?
A. Yes. The license that we sell enables you to export our data
in two ways, the Housingnet Client
software and the Online
Export Panel. Both methods of extraction are exactly the same
and the data is exported to an MS Excel spreadsheet and can be saved
in MS Word, a text file or a tab delimited file.
Q. We would like to purchase
a license to use your data, how do we do this?
A. Registration to our system to enable you to view, access and
export the data we hold can be done directly
from here.
Q. How many
Housing Association/Local Authority records are there on your database?
A. The total number of Housing Association records on the database
is around 3100 but this number is constantly changing as new organisations
are listed, mergers occur and some records are deleted. When all
'Area Offices' and 'Care & Repair' organisations are removed the
number of records remaining is approximately 2100. For marketing
purposes we estimate that there are two levels of campaign the most
refined one consisting of around 450 records and the second 780.
There are 371 Local Authorities on the database and each will have
a separate address record for the different departments.
Q. How often
is the data updated?
A. We update our database around 20 times per day and any changes
can be immediately downloaded to the Housingnet Client as often as you
wish. Changes to the database appear instantaneously on the Housingnet
website.
Q. Can I write
to a named individual in each organisation?
A. With very few exceptions there will be at least three contacts
in each organisation in England with over 100 units in management
and over 1000 units for the rest of the UK. In the first instance
we aim for Chief Executive/Managing Director, Director of Finance
and an IT Contact.
After this we try for as many of these contacts as possible:
Deputy Chief Executive:
Director of Housing:
Director of Corporate Services:
Managing Director:
Director of Marketing:
Director of Operations:
Director of Property Services:
Director of Regeneration & Development:
Director/Head of IT:
Director/Head of Communications:
IT/Communications Manager:
Director/Head of New Business:
Community Services Director:
Customer Services Manager:
Head of Human Resources:
Tenants Participation Officer:
Housing Solicitor:
Head of Legal Team:
Q. How many
email addresses are there and can I mail merge them?
A. There will be a general office email for all organisations that
have them, there are also many individual e-mail contacts in the
system but these can not be exported. We have been requested by
some Housing Organisations to not allow mail merging to individual
contacts through our system so we don't, as we do pretty much anything
they ask of us. Individual contact email addresses can be viewed
in a registered Housingnet Client or on the Housing Association pages
on Housingnet once you have logged on.
I am an Housing Association or LA employee ....

Access system.
If you do not have the time to use Access then please use the contact

is a generic one i.e.. 'Hotmail' or 'BT Internet' then please send

all jobs can be submitted directly to Housingnet via Access.

automatic but please contact us if you require assistance.

Housingnet?

and Local Government employees. This includes registration to our
system to enable you to activate the Housingnet Client, to
view all the hidden data on the Housingnet website and access to
the job posting service. To access all our services please log onto
