The first stop for information on UK Social Housing Organisations

HA search
Since 1997 Housingnet has been delivering the broadest publicly-accessible database of Social Housing Organisations across the UK.  It is now recognised as the most comprehensive source of information on social housing organisations’ housing stock and their management teams. Searching on Google for ‘UK housing associations’ presents Housingnet.co.uk as the first in the list.

The broadest, most up to date coverage

Unfettered by government or quasi-government organisational control, Housingnet’s scope is broad, currently managing details on over 2,350 Housing Associations (‘HAs’). Maintenance is constant: about 60,000 updates a year are made to the database – by Housingnet staff who proactively monitor activity and check information sources in the sector and by the HAs themselves through a self-service portal. Apart from its service to visitors and subscribers, Housingnet supplies independent data to organisations such as the National Housing Federation, the Chartered Institute of Housing, Capita, and Ordnance Survey. For the past five years Housingnet’s data has been published wholesale in Caritas Data’s Housing Association Financial Year Book.

Aside from providing information about stock and contact points, the web site provides links to the HA’s own site and other data providers, allows HAs to post job vacancies, and offers services such as a Housing Points Calculator.

17,500 different visitors a week

housingnet.co.uk receives over 20,000 visits per week from around 17,500 different visitors. 74% of these are from new visitors to the site (source : Google

Analytics Feb 2011). Visitors range from those seeking accommodation, through industry researchers and job seekers, to individuals in HAs seeking information on (and contacts in) other social housing providers.

A small fee buys Registered User Access. Registered Users may also bulk download filtered lists of contacts for marketing/research purposes and view email addresses of the contacts within an HA. Registered User Access is offered free to Housing Association staff.

Housingnet is funded by registration fees and advertising. You can register to download extracted data for marketing purposes on-line. To discuss advertising opportunities with Housingnet and the 60 Second Housing News please contact Jonathan Gibbs (07786 333019).

FAQ
How many records are there on the database?
Housing Organisations – 2,301 Local Authority – 438

How often is your data updated?
We update in real-time from a number of different sources so changes are being made every working hour.

The organisation that I work for isn’t listed in your database, what should I do?
Click here to send us an email and let us know.

What is the ‘Top 400’?
Many Parent Housing Organisations are ‘non-stock holding’ so if you exported all organisations with 1 or more unit in management you would be excluding some of the biggest Social Home providers in the UK. In the Top 400 we have totaled all the housing stock owned or managed by each Parent giving you a sorted list of the biggest movers and shakers in the sector.

Do you guarantee your data?
No we cannot, there is too much of it. We do though guarantee that we have the best available contact data of this type by far in any media in the UK.

Does the export contain contact names for Executive Management and Heads of Departments?
In the export panel you can see the titles of the recipients we hold on the database. Some will be duplicates as the Chief Executive of the Parent company will usually be the same for its subsidiaries.

Can I export the email address of these ‘Contact Names’?
No. Only general email addresses for each organisation e.g.. admin@ha.org.uk can be exported.

How do I receive the data?
All data is exported in spread sheet format.

How many times can I export data?
Depending on the licence that you purchase you can export data as often as you wish over a 365 day period or for 7 days from the time of activation.

Can I speak to someone on the phone?
We would prefer you sent an email. If we can’t resolve your question that way we can call you.

What if I don’t like what I get?
You would be the first client in 10 years that asked for their money back and if you were that unhappy we would certainly consider a full refund.
